Potatoes are steamed in an instant pot to speed up cooking
Ingredients
6-8 yellow potatoes
3 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Cajun seasoning
Instructions
Begin by peeling your potatoes. Cut the potatoes into thick chunks around 1-2 inches wide and 1 inches long.
Rinse your potatoes under cold water.
Add the potatoes to an instant pot on a steamer basket. Add 2 cups of water (500 mL). Set to high for 3-4 minutes. If you don't have an instant pot, you can also boil them in a large pot of water for around 8 minutes. You can also skip this step, but you'll need to air fry the potatoes for around 30 minutes.
Quick release using the valve once the timer is up, and transfer to a large bowl. Let cool for a couple of minutes.
Add 3 teaspoons of olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning. Feel free to adjust the seasoning to your liking. Mix well.
Cook in an air-fryer at 375 F (190 C) for 15 minutes. Turn halfway through.
Note: Cooking the potatoes before air frying them keeps them nice and fluffy on the inside while crispy on the outside.
