Description
Korean side dish known as Hobak Jeon (호박전)
Ingredients
- 1 zucchini
- You can use any type of zucchini here! Traditionally, Korean zucchini (Aehobak 애호박) is used, but it can be hard to find Korean zucchini.
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup of flour
- You can also use Korean Pancake Flour. This is essentially flour with a bit of seasoning.
- Salt and black pepper
Instructions
- Cut the zucchini into slices of your preferred thickness. I recommend slices around 1cm thick.
- Coat the zucchini in a thin layer of flour. You can place the flour and zucchini in a sandwich bag and shake to coat the zucchini.
- Crack an egg, season with a bit of salt and black pepper, and whisk it.
- Coat the zucchini in a thin layer of egg.
- Fry over medium-high heat for 3 to 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove and enjoy! You can dip it with ketchup or vinegar.
