Easy basmati brown rice recipe in instant pot
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown basmati rice
- 1 1/4 cup water
- You can also substitute for chicken broth for more flavorful rice.
- [Optional] Black pepper and salt
Increase the ratios of rice to water proportionally if you want to cook more. You do not need to adjust the cooking time.
For example, to double the recipe, use 2 cups of brown basmati rice and 2 1/2 cups of water.
Instructions
- Rinse the brown basmati rice under cold water and strain well.
- Add the rice and water to the instant pot (I'm using a 6-Qt instant pot).
- Pressure cook on high for 15 minutes.
- Natural release for at least 5 minutes. You can leave it longer if you want to do other things.
- Fluff and enjoy!
